Amanda Belfiore is from Staten Island, NY, but grew up in Colts Neck, NJ. She received her BFA in fine arts as a Dance major from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. While always having one foot onstage and the other in the gym, she found the sport of bodybuilding and started competing in muscle competitions in 2013. After college she competed in pole and aerial fitness as well as recreational & competitive dance. In 2019 she opened up her own beauty studio for lash extensions, makeup, and permanent cosmetics.
She discovered the Lagree Method early 2024, and after one class she was hooked. She loves Lagree because it’s the perfect mix of high intensity, low impact bodybuilding and mental strength to complete a workout. You have to really activate the mind-muscle connection to push your limits physically. Her favorite move is the Mega Catfish.
A fun fact about Amanda is that she loves an adrenaline rush from a rollercoaster and she has a custom pink tie-dye bowling ball that smells like cake with her name engraved on it. Amanda’s favorite movie is Finding Nemo and she has three French bulldogs.
Nikki moved from NYC to Atlantic Highlands to live by the beach. She loves fitness and is a certified FiTOUR group fitness instructor, NASM certified Personal Trainer and Level 1 certified Lagree instructor. Nikki loves Lagree because it is the most intense low impact workout out there and loves building classes around gritty hip hop and pop hits.
In her free time, she loves all types of group fitness, from pickleball, to races with friends, to a kickass Lagree workout. A fun fact about Nikki is she loves camping in national parks with her family!
Bri is originally from Manalapan, New Jersey. She was an All Star Cheerleader for 14 years. Bri began taking Lagree classes at Power Core Studio and fell in love immediately because she loves how it helps her quiet her mind. She loves how when she is on the Mega, she forgets everything else and can just focus on her body and her breathing. Bri, always feels that the slow movements calm her down, and that the workout leaves her feeling stronger and confident. Bri’s favorite move is a plank to pike. A fun fact about Bri is that she is a part of Zeta Tau Alpha at Rutgers and she loves house music.
Jena had practiced yoga on and off for a few years but her fitness journey really began in 2012 after making some life changes. She started working out at home and going to yoga more regularly. She had always thought maybe she would like to teach so when the studio was offering teacher training she signed up. Jena graduated from Freehold Yoga Center with her RYT 200 in 2014 and has been teaching ever since. Her yoga teaching style is rooted in form and alignment which is what she likes about Lagree.
She found Lagree in 2022 through some of her yoga teacher friends. She was hooked instantly – the challenge, the strength and focus that it takes, the effects, she could go on!!. She loves that Lagree pushes the limits both mentally and physically. Her favorite move changes all the time, but she will always love Glute Press. The shakes are real on that one!!
A fun fact about Jena is she’s 40 years old and has never had a cavity! Jena’s been a hairstylist since 2003 and has owned her own salon suite since January of 2021. Aside from yoga and Lagree she also loves to run and lift weights. She is always in the car and loves listening to audiobooks – psychological thrillers are her jam!
Amie Cazal is originally from Beaverton, Oregon. Her background is as a performer with some dance training. Growing up she didn’t find herself participating in sports because she felt “un-athletic.” However, discovering yoga as a young adult really helped her begin to connect with and have a healthy appreciation for her own body. With that Amie studied to become a Certified Yoga Instructor.
Recently Amie discovered the Lagree Method and she loves it because it challenges both the body and mind. She is grateful to have found Lagree at this point in her life, because she knows how important strength training is as we age. While not a runner, her favorite move is currently the Runner’s Lunge because it makes her feel grounded and strong.
A fun fact about Amie is she has two accordions that she is slowly learning to play. Polka-Lagree class, anyone? Amie also loves to chat about books and what she’s reading. If you’ve read a great book recently, she wants to hear about it!
Lisa is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, where she grew up as a competitive figure skater. A graduate of Penn State, “We are..,” she made her way to the New Jersey-New York area where she worked in sports media/public relations before going back to her roots, coaching ice skating. With over 30 years of coaching experience as a U.S. Figure Skating Level A Instructor/Official; some of her skater’s achievements include qualifying for Regional, Sectional and National Collegiate and National Excel Championships. Although Lisa continues to coach and has always been an active participant in fitness, and sports outside the ice, after being diagnosed with DCIS and having bilateral mastectomy surgery in 2021.
Lisa found herself seeking alternate avenues to recover to build her body and mind back and decided to up the ante from her regular 5k’s and half-marathons to run a full marathon – completing the NYC Marathon in both 2022 and 2023.
Lisa found Lagree and got certified in 2024. She loves how Lagree is form-based and slow. As an avid yogi, Lisa loves that the Mega Pro carriage feels like her own personal mat. Her favorite Lagree move is the Catfish because she loves wearing high heels (iykyk). A fun fact about Lisa is she lived in former Yugoslavia and was introduced to ice skating there when she was 5 years old. In her free time Lisa likes to also paddleboard, read, write and re-fab furniture.
Emily grew up in Neptune, New Jersey. She has been a dancer since she was 4 years old. She practiced Pilates throughout high school and had been an avid gym goer. Lagree has been the only constant for the last 8 years.
Emily has been a certified Lagree instructor since January of 2020. Lagree has been the only form of fitness that Emily has been able to maintain through many injuries and health conditions including arthritis and shoulder and back injuries. She loves that no matter how my body is feeling, how many modifications she needs to take that day, she’s still going to get a kickass workout. Her favorite move is Reverse Giant Kneeling Crunch.
A fun fact about Emily is she was homeschooled from K-12! Her favorite movie is Elf!
Mackenzie was born and raised in Old Bridge, NJ. She was a competitive gymnast for 15 years and ended her career as a Division 1 NCAA gymnast at Temple University, where she achieved All-Scholastic, All-Conference and All-Tournament honors. Since retiring from gymnastics, Mackenzie has gotten into strength training and now loves Lagree as well!!
She loves the mental toughness of Lagree, and how different it is from other types of workouts. It incorporates all parts of fitness from mind muscle connection, to tempo, to range of motion and more! The attention to form reminds her of gymnastics and she loves the challenge. Her favorite move is a saw.
A fun fact about Mackenzie is that she has been skydiving and loves traveling to new places, her favorite is Spain! Mackenzie loves reading, exercising, and spending time with friends and family.
Theresa grew up in Middlesex, NJ where she started taking dance classes at the age of 2 at Central Jersey Dance Company, competing for 16 years. She continued her ballet training at the New Jersey Ballet through college and now teaches dance both privately and at ballet studios in the area. Theresa began practicing yoga when she started college and soon thereafter, fell in love with it. She received her Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from Island Yoga in Aruba with Rachel Brathen and Lara Heimann and continues to teach open level vinyasa yoga classes.
Theresa has a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Deaf Studies from The College of New Jersey. She is on the board as the American Sign Language Interpreter for Raise the Volume Non-Profit Organization. Lagree Fitness is a new avenue of fitness that Theresa has recently discovered and has come to really appreciate. As a dancer, she is conscious of proper form to prevent injury which is why she loves Lagree since it is regimented in order to perform the correct exercises and movements. Theresa’s favorite Lagree move is Standing Inner Thighs; she loves the way her body feels after completing a class, especially when her core and legs immediately feel a healthy sore.
A fun fact about Theresa is that she loves animals, especially dogs. She has a black lab mix named Mojito who is a ball of energy. She adopted him from Aruba and also got married in Aruba. For her wedding, instead of party favors, they donated to the animal rescue where she adopted Mojito. Theresa loves the beach and her favorite thing to do is travel! She loves to explore new places with her husband and tries to travel to a new place at least once a year.
Jessica grew up in Brooklyn, NY. She started lifting weights at a very young 6 years of age as a way to keep active. She became passionate about physical fitness and getting results. She originally began with Pilates and then came to find Lagree and was immediately hooked and found that it was the missing piece in her fitness routine that she needed. She loves Lagree because no matter how many classes she takes, it is always a challenge and Lagree gives her the ability to always learn and continue to push herself to be 1% better each and every time. Her favorite move is Catfish because everyone can do it and it’s very effective.
A fun fact about Jessica is that she is engaged to her very first boyfriend from when she was a teenager to whom she reconnected with after more than 20 years later.
Diane is originally from Hershey, PA. She studied Business and Film at the University of Southern California and got her MBA at New York University. She grew up as a figure skater, tennis player and dancer. After spending a decade doing half marathons and long distance running the high impact on her joints turned her to barre and eventually Lagree! She found Lagree while she was living in NYC and used it as a way for her to stay strong for her job as an event producer! She even put herself through a mini boot camp using Lagree before building the Museum of Broadway. Settling down in NJ with her husband and 4 kids she knew she wanted to share this workout with even more people so built Power Core in 2024! Diane’s favorite move is the scrambled egg. A fun fact about Diane is that she had her 4th baby on the side of Rt 35 not too far away from the Middletown location!
